Neil Young, seeing him live at Glasto completely reinforced my admiration for him as a musician and as one of my favourite songwriters. I saw a documentary about him the other day, and he comes across as a stubborn, hard to work with man, but only because he will never let money or anything be in the way for always evolving and staying true to his music. He has been through a lot of different fazes as a musician, everything from folk to fuzz, synth, rockabilly...it appears in the docu that the rockabilly album was made in pure rebellion against his record company who asked him to make a "rock'n'roll" album, and not another unpopular experimental synth-sound album; he asked them, "do you know what rock'n'roll is?", and since they couldn't answer that, he made the rockabilly album, which also tanked in sales...:)
He was towards the end of the late 80s early 90s experimenting a lot with distortion, touring with Crazy Horse and Sonic Youth, and Kurt Cobain and Eddie Vedder amongst others have cited Neil as a big influence. On my top 10 favourite albums ever, is one of his earlier albums, After the gold rush. It never gets old.

love neil young. rock on!
Kjekt å lese bloggen din, og ikkje minst oppdage at du òg beundrar Neil Young og musikken hans! Han er mitt store førebilete, og 'Tell me why' er ein av favorittsangane mine, då After the goldrush-plata var den første plata eg høyrte av han når eg var liten. Du har no fått deg enno ein fast blogglesar!
Yall got good taste in music! Maia: Takk, velkommen!
