I went to see one of my all time favorite bands, The Vaselines (Eugene Kelly and Frances McKee), on Friday. They were brilliant! And also very funny. They have only ever released one album; The way of the Vaselines in 1989, one of their biggest fans was Kurt Cobain, who covered a few of their songs. He thought they were some of the best songwriters, as they combine brilliantly written songs, with a sort of amateurish singing and instrument playing. Most of you would have heard some of these songs already, see Nirvanas unplugged cover of Jesus don't want me for a sunbeam here.
